Elbridge Mabrin Whitted Family Burials

Elbridge Mabrin Whitted, son of Jonathan and Nancy Rogers Clark Whitted, came with his parents from North Carolina to Indiana about 1834-35, settling in Parke County. Elbridge married Caroline Aldridge, daughter of Elijah Aldridge and Jane White, in 1846 and they remained in Indiana several years before moving to Boone County, Iowa. About 1880 the family moved again, this time to Florida. They settled in Manatee County, Florida, where Elbridge had orange groves.

Elbridge died in 1899 in Oneco and Caroline died the following year. Both are buried in what is now Major Adams Cemetery in Bradenton, Manatee County. The author has visited the gravestones below. Gravestones of many of their descendants can be found at Find A Grave, although many of Elbridge's children's burial sites are unknown. Known burials can be found in the Thomas Whitted Esq. descendant report.
