George Bracie Whitted was the fifth child of Thomas Austin and Julia Jeanettie Phillips Whitted of St. Petersburg, Florida. He married Beatrice E. Pepperdine on 23 August 1922 in Hillsborough County, Florida. She was the daughter of Frank and Florence Pepperdine. By 1930 they were living in Hammond, Indiana, where they spent the rest of their lives. They had four children. George died in 1855 in Lakeland, Florida, while on a visit there. Beatrice died nearly forty years later, in 1994, in Hammond. They are buried in Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond.
