William Louis "Tuff" Brent, twelfth child and sixth son of Francis Celestino Brent and Mary Ella Shuttleworth, was born at 10:20 p.m. in Pensacola, Florida. His godparents were Celestine Brent, his twelve-year-old sister, and Frank Gale Renshaw, his cousin, son of his grandmother Amanda Brosnaham's sister Georgianna.
