Above, left: Lawrence George Bentall, 1904-1997, son and youngest child of Maude Alice Miller and Edmund Ernest Bentall. George married Isabelle Chapman in 1931. Above, right: Barbara Maude Bentall Barker, 1892-1981, 4th child of Maude Alice Miller and Edmund Ernest Bentall. Barbara was married to Lt. Gen. Michael George H. Barker. Barbara is standing in front of her home at Stoke-by-Nayland, near Colchester, 1970. Left: John Ernest Grosvenor, 1887-1963, 7th Btn Worcestershire Regiment - Major. Husband of Margery Gertrude Bentall, 1889-1974, daughter of Maude Alice Miller and Edmund Ernest Bentall. John became head of his family's carpet business in Kidderminster, in Worcestershire, Woodward Grosvenor Carpets. He served as the mayor of Kidderminster and the High Sheriff of Worcestershire. Later in life he was ordained an Anglican minister, becoming a curate to the rector of Churchill with Blakedown, near Kidderminster. He was a lifelong mountaineer and a member of the Alpine Club and the Midland Association of Mountaineers. He died in London. |
