Mary Ella Shuttleworth Brent

Mary Ella Shuttleworth Brent, 1852-1905, was the daughter of Col. William Louis Shuttleworth and Amanda Brosnaham. She married Francis Celestino Brent in 1872 in Pensacola and was the mother of thirteen children. She died on the day before Christmas, 1905, of a "cancerous infection" when she was 53 - although the record of death gives her age as 54. She was buried in St. Michael's Cemetery.

The attending physician was her nephew, Dr. Frank G. Renshaw, son of her sister, Georgiana Brosnaham, and Francis B. Renshaw.
