Ethel Maude Miller was the daughter of Charles Edward and Annie Bayley Miller and the wife of Arthur Franklin Boyd. She was born in a log cabin in Birtle, Manitoba, Canada, the fifth child in the family. In the mid-1890s, after the family had moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Ethel was badly burned, spent a year in a hospital in Pittsburgh and then went to England with her father for more advanced surgery. The rest of the family followed and remained in England for about ten years before moving to Cheyenne, Wyoming. |
