Enoch Whitted and Eliza Hise were married 30 October 1851 in Rockville, Parke County, Indiana.
Enoch Whitted, 1828-1901, was the son of Jonathan Whitted and Nancy Rogers Clark of Parke County. He is named in the marriage license and certificate as Enoch Whitehead.
Elizabeth E. "Eliza" Hise, 1832-1916, named in the certificate as Eliza E. Hise, was the daughter of Solomon and Katherine Hise of Parke County. Eliza was born in Parke County. Enoch was born in North Carolina, later moving to Indiana with his family.
Not long after they were married, Enoch and Eliza moved to Vermillion County, Indiana, just west of Parke County. It was there that they raised their family of nine children and where they died and are buried.
