Area of Addergoole Parish, County Mayo, Ireland

The image above shows the area in County Mayo which comprises parts of Addergoole and Crossmolina Parishes where the Hope and Healy families lived in the 1800s. Thomas Hope was born in Crossmolina. The Hope families lived in the area of Castlehill at one time before moving to the area of Dervin. The Healy family lived in the townlands of Derryfadda and Pollawarla. The church in Lahardaun was where the families went to church, married or were baptized. Mary Healy, who married Michael Rowland, was the only one of the Healy children to remain in Ireland. She and her family lived in Bofeenaun and some of their children emigrated to the United States.
