Copy of the marriage record for Dr. John Tomlinson, surgeon and apothecary, and Dorothy Spurstow, spinster, married by license, 9 February 1786, at St. Martin's Church in Chester, Cheshire, England. John was the son of Randle Tomlinson of Plemstall, Cheshire. Dorothy was the daughter of George Spurstow and Elizabeth Hayes of Chester, Cheshire. They had nine children in Cheshire, the last one in 1805, before John died in 1808. Dorothy died in 1828.
