John Pers and his wife Elizabeth were married in Norwich, Norfolk, England in April 1610 and their marriage was recorded in the parish register there at St. Edmund's Church. In the register were records of the baptisms of six of their children. Other children of John and Elizabeth may have been baptized there but were not found because the register, being old, is not in the best of shape and many of the records are torn, damaged or illegible.

The records were recorded by year, with the new year beginning on March 25th. Baptisms that took place from January until that day would be considered now to have taken place in the following year. Thus Judith would have been baptized in February 1628. The day of baptism was given in Roman numerals followed by "th" and were impossible to make out in some cases. I have included the nearest year in the images. Anthony is supposedly the oldest child but I was unable to find his baptism; the pages for 1611 are torn and much information is missing. Barbara, the other child for whom a baptism cannot be found, came with her parents to Massachusetts and was considered one of the younger children according to one source.
