Robert Innocent Brent, 94, died Saturday, at a local nursing home.

Mr. Brent was a native and lifelong resident of Pensacola and a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Florence Burke and Mary Lough, both of Pensacola; a son-in-law, G. Kay Lough of Pensacola; a sister, Frances Fick of Coronado, Calif.; nine grandchildren, Charles Lamar Switzer of New Orleans, La., Robert Brent Switzer of Baton Rouge, La., John L. Switzer Jr. of the Azores (Portugal), and Kitt Lough and Richard Lough, both of Pensacola, Linda Lough Rees of Lemoore, Calif., and Diane Locke, Hunter Copeland and Robert William Brent, all of Birmingham, Ala.; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Michael's Catholic Church with the Very Rev. Richard J. Bowles V.F. officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery with Waters & Hibbert directing.

Pallbearers will be Charles Switzer, Bob Switzer, Richard Lough, Bill Allenbach, J. Brent Watson Jr., James W. Veal and Donald H. Partington.

Honorary pallbearers will be J. Brent Watson Sr., Thomas C. Watson, Edward Sinclair Watson, Alba H. Warren Jr., James E. Turtle, Bill Saltmarsh and the Rev. Edward H. Harrison.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Haven of Our Lady of Peace.

Visitation will be in the chapel of Waters & Hibbert from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.

Robert Innocent Brent was born 28 December 1890 in Pensacola to Francis Celestino Brent, Sr., and Mary Ella Shuttleworth. He was the eleventh child and fifth son in the family. He married Florence Waller Burke 18 September 1920. He died 18 May 1985 and was buried beside his wife in St. Michael's Cemetery, Pensacola. He was 94.

Survivors: Florence Burke is Florence Burke Brent, Robert's daughter; Mary Lough is Mary Carroll Brent Lough, Robert's daughter and youngest child; G. Kay Lough is her husband; Frances Fick, Robert's youngest sister, was Mrs. Harold F. Fick; she was his only sibling still alive at the time of his death; Charles Lamar Switzer, Robert Brent Switzer and John L. Switzer were the sons of Mary Carroll Brent and her first husband, John Lamar Switzer who died in 1959. Kitt Lough, Richard Lough and Linda Lough Rees are Robert's grandchildren and Mary Lough's children. Robert William Brent is the son of Robert's son, John Burke Brent. It is not known who Diane Locke and Hunter Copeland are related.

Pallbearers: Charles and Bob Switzer and Richard Lough are grandsons; Thomas C. Watson and Edward Sinclair Watson are Robert's nephews, sons of his sister, Catherine Brent Watson; Alba H. Warren Jr., is Robert's nephew, son of his sister Cora Brent Warren; James E. Turtle is Robert's nephew, son of his sister Genevieve Brent Turtle; it is not known who Bill Saltmarsh is, but the Saltmarshes were Brent cousins.

There are no great grandchildren mentioned, so perhaps the great-great grandchildren was meant to be great grandchildren.
