Margaret Holme was a widow when she married John Miller on 18 Feb 1739 in Kendal, Westmoreland, England and was listed as Mrs. Holme on the marriage record. Margaret was married previously to John Holme, Esq., who was mayor of Kendal when he died in 1737. John and Margaret had four children: Rebecca, Thomas, Dorothy and William, my ancestor.
