Memorial Plaque: John Miller & Mrs. Margaret Holme
Holy Trinity Church, Kendal

In the northwest floor of Holy Trinity Church in Kendal, Cumbria, England, there is a memorial inscription which reads:

"In Memory John Miller late Alderman of this Town, who died April 24th 1778 aged 83 Years. Also of Margaret his Wife who died 29th Day of March 1763 aged 54 Years"

John Miller married the widow Margaret Holmes in 1739 in Kendal, Westmorland (now Cumbria), England. Margaret had three young children by her husband, John Holme, who died in 1736. Margaret and John Miller had four children: Rebecca, Thomas, Dorothy and William, born about 1751, the ancestor of our Liverpool Miller line.
