The locket pictured on the left has an inscription on the left which reads: F.C. Brent Jr., Pensacola, Fla. A picture of Mary Ella Shuttleworth Brent appears on the reverse side of the picture of the unidentified man.
F.C. Brent Jr. was the son of Francis Celestino Brent, 1848-1914, of Pensacola, Florida, and husband of Mary Ella Shuttleworth Brent - the 2d person pictured in the locket. Francis Celestino's father was Thomas William Brent who moved from Washington D.C. to Pensacola, Florida. He served in the U.S. Navy and then in the Confederate States Navy.
According to one source, the picture of the unidentified man is not that of Thomas William Brent. The eyes of Thomas William Brent and the man in the locket are different. Thomas William Brent's father, William Brent, served in the District of Columbia Militia in the early 1800s. Perhaps this portrait is of him.
Who might this person be who is the locket handed down in the Brent family?
The image on the left of Thomas William Brent is from a portrait of him which was in the possession of Larry and Etheldreda Watson Grimes in 2007.
