1800: The census was started August 4, 1800. Jarvis Jr. was born 28 September. In the census, the household headed by Jarvis Peirce lists only one male so it must have been taken before Jarvis Jr. was born.
1810: Next to the Peirce family in the 1810 census is Abraham Darby, possibly the younger brother of Rhoda, Jarvis' wife. In 1810, Byfield Pierce, older brother of Jarvis Sr., is also living in Craftsbury.
1820: Jarvis is living with his parents; one source gives the county as White Co.: Ancestry.com database; another says Gallatin: Illinois Census Returns, 1820, by Margaret Cross Norton. The township is listed as North of West in Ancestry.com. The names on the bottom of the page are from the Fox River precinct, the area just east of Carmi, so the Peirces would have been living near this area.
1830: Ancestry.com indexes him as Jarvis Purce. Another index spells Jarvis as Jarvier: Index to the 1830 Federal Census: Illinois. Danville IL, Heritage House, 1970. Jarvis was married to Sally Wilkerson at this time.
1840: Have been unable to locate Jarvis.
1850: Jarvis was married to Elewisa Hubbard Gatewood by this time.
1870: Jarvis was married to Unity Dewall Barnes by this time.
