Henry Johnson Brent, 1811-1880
Henry Johnson Brent was the second child of Colonel William Brent and Catherine Walker Johnson of Washington, D.C. Born in 1811, he was a writer and painter. He married Elizabeth Carroll 7 January 1834. Elizabeth was the daughter of Daniel Carroll of Duddington and Anne Boyce and a distant cousin of Henry. After she died in Paris in 1846, Henry married a second time to Wealthy Backus of Rochester, New York.

Henry died 3 August 1880 in New York City and was buried two days later in Calvary Cemetery in Queens, New York. It is not known when Wealtha died nor where she was buried.
