Obituary: Florence Burke Brent, 1889-1981





Florence Burke Brent, known to our family as Aunt Floss, was the wife of Robert Innocent Brent, brother of our grandmother, Frances Louise Brent. Floss and Robert met through Robert's sister, Genevieve, who was a classmate of Floss. They were married in New York City in 1920, eventually moving to Pensacola in the 1930s, where Robert had been born and where most of his family still lived.

Floss and Robert are buried in St. Michael's Cemetery in Pensacola.

Floss' obituary appeared in the Pensacola Journal, Monday 21 December, 1981, p.12C.

The photograph of Floss was given by Floss to her sister-in-law, Mollie Brent Mare and was handed down in the family.
