Eleanor Darnall was born about 1703, at the Woodyard, the family home in Prince George's County, Maryland, near present day Andrews Air Force Base. Her parents were Henry Darnall II and Anne Digges. Eleanor married, about 1727, Daniel Carroll, son of Keane Carroll. Daniel and Eleanor had seven children. Their son, Daniel Carroll II, 1730-1796, signed both the Articles of Confederation and the U.S. Constitution. Son John entered the priesthood and became the first American archbishop. Their daughter, Anne Carroll, is my ancestor, the mother of Col. William Brent.
