Copy of the christening record for Dorothy Spurstow, 13 September 1763, at St. Peter's, Church of England, in Chester, Cheshire, England. Dorothy's entry is nearly at the bottom of the image. Dorothy was the daughter of "George and Elizabeth Sporsto, apothecary." The date in this copy of the record is too dark to be legible, but when looking at the original record it can be made out. An apothecary was what we would call a pharmacist and the British would call a chemist. Dorothy was the third child of George Spurstow and Elizabeth Hayes (Heays) of Chester.
