According to a claim of Widow for Service Pension in the Mexican War, Merced G. Brent states that she was married in Barancas, Escambia County, Florida, by one S.Y. Guinard, a Catholic priest. The Pres. below his name was the French abbreviation for priest. Barrancas is located near Warrington, southwest of Pensacola.
